Skin & Nail Treatments

Targeted in-clinic procedures for fungal nails, warts, corns, and stubborn skin lesions.

What Skin & Nail Treatments Involve

Skin and nail treatments are a suite of in-clinic procedures matched to your specific diagnosis. Rather than relying on a single approach, our clinicians select the modality that best suits the lesion type, severity, and your overall health profile.

Each treatment is selected after a clinical assessment, because the right procedure depends on accurate diagnosis. For symptoms and causes, see our Skin & Nail Conditions page.

Spotlight: Advanced Fungal Nail Treatment with PACT Therapy

Fungal nail infections are notoriously difficult to clear. Oral antifungals work but carry risks of liver toxicity and drug interactions, which often rule them out for elderly patients, diabetic patients, and anyone on multiple medications.

PACT (Photodynamic Antimicrobial Chemotherapy) is a clinic-based alternative that uses a topical photosensitising gel activated by a specific wavelength of LED light. The activated gel destroys fungal cells directly within the nail bed without affecting surrounding tissue.

Why patients choose PACT

What to expect

A typical course involves four sessions spaced one week apart, followed by maintenance reviews as the new healthy nail grows out. Most patients see visible improvement within three to six months, in line with the natural growth rate of the toenail.

Why Professional Treatment Matters

A Real-World Note on Why This Matters

In a clinical evaluation of PACT for onychomycosis (Gilaberte et al., Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology 2017), photodynamic therapy demonstrated meaningful clinical and mycological improvement in patients unsuitable for or unresponsive to systemic antifungals. For patients who cannot take oral medication, PACT bridges a real gap in care.

About Our Clinic & How We Help

Emerald Hill Podiatry is among the few clinics in Singapore offering PACT photodynamic therapy alongside the full conventional skin and nail toolkit. This means the recommendation is matched to the lesion and the patient, not to the equipment available. All procedures are led by a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine.
